If you want your family to have a relaxing vacation free of worry, an O'Shea Travel Family Tour is for you. Let us do the planning so your Ireland excursion can be everything you want it to be. We can arrange a tour that is fun and educational at the same time. Your children can learn all about the colorful and deep history of those who have come before. We will work with you to design an itinerary that suits all ages and needs.

The following itinerary has been designed to encapsulate the very best family experience Ireland has to offer. As always, it can be modified to suit your personal interests and requests.

Day 0 Depart the U.S. for your overnight flight to Ireland.

Day 1 Arrive into Shannon Airport. Board your luxury motor vehicle and travel for your overnight in Galway. Relax for the rest of the day so as to recover from your flight. You can also explore this wonderful city on foot.

Galway prides itself on being a city which welcomes families and accordingly has many facilities to cater for the younger member of the family.

  • Galway Atlantaquaria, Ireland's National Aquarium. An enjoyable and educational environment in which to learn about the diverse marine ecosystem in Ireland.
  • Turoe Pet Farm and Leisure Park.  The Turoe Stone is a rare national monument dating back to the 1st Century BC. Surrounded by a 14 acre Visitor Farm & Leisure Park including nature trail, playgrounds, picnic area, pool room and Ireland's first Inflatable City!
  • Hey Doodle Doodle. Paint your own plate, dish, mug or even a miniature unicorn at this family-friendly ceramic studio which is great fun for adults and children alike. Once you're finished, they'll glaze and fire your creation in the kiln and have it ready for you within two days. They'll even mail it on to your home if you are just passing through.

Day 2–3 You have many options for the next 2 days. You can decide which you would like to choose on the previous day. Please discuss with your driver these options. Note that only one option is available per day.

  • Travel into the rugged Connemara region. We travel through the towns of Moycullen, Maam Cross, Oughterard and Spiddal and Kylemore Abbey. Return to Galway for your overnight.
  • Visit the Aran Islands. The three Aran Islands are situated in Galway Bay and the ferry crossing takes about 50 minutes depending on weather.
  • Spend the day in and around the picturesque village of Cong, the setting of the John Wayne classic, The Quiet Man.
  • Golf can be played at Connemara or Lahinch.
  • Spend the day in Galway City with all its activities and shopping.

Day 4 Check out of your accommodation. Drive through Lisdoonvarna and the fishing village of Kinvara. Continue south through Clare and its interesting landscape of The Burren. At 800 feet above the Atlantic Ocean, a walk along the Cliffs of Moher is a bracing experience. From here we take the Kilimer ferry to Co. Kerry and on to Killarney for your accommodation.

Day 5,6,7 You have many options for the next 3 days. You can decide which you would like to choose on the previous day. Please discuss with your driver these options. Note that only one option is available per day.

  • Muckross Traditional Farms. At Muckross Traditional Farms you are invited to take a stroll down memory lane to a time before the advent of electricity when all work was carried out using traditional methods. Visit 3 separate working farms each complete with animals, poultry and traditional farm machinery. See a Laborer's Cottage, a Carpenter's Workshop, and a Blacksmith's Forge. Meet and chat with the farmers and their wives as they go about their daily work in the houses, on the land, and with the animals.
  • The National Museum of Irish Transport. Situated in the heart of Killarney town, the museum houses a marvelous collection of veteran and vintage transport, including cars, motor-bikes, cycles, and fire engines. Among the superb collection you can see the rarest car in the world, the 1907 Silver Stream(only one was ever produced) and an 1898 Benz Velo, the first car to be driven in Ireland.
  • Cool Wood Wildlife Sanctuary and Children's Zoo. This 50-acre wildlife sanctuary just 3km from Killarney Town is an ideal place for families. As well as the rich variety of exotic animals on view in the three acre children's zoo, there are also 3km of walking trails, a coffee shop and children's playground.
  • Killarney Model Railway. One of the world's largest railways with over 50 trains running on a mile of track to transport you through the landmarks of Europe.
  • Jaunting Car Tour/Lakes of Killarney Cruise.
    A spectacular one hour jaunting car trip through The National Park by the lakeshore through the Deer Parks, en route to Ross Castle, followed by a one hour guided cruise on Lough Leane.

Day 8 Check out of your accommodation and travel to the quaint village of Adare. Finally finish up at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. This 15th century castle is the centerpiece of a fantastic folk park. Tonight be treated like royalty at The Bunratty Medieval Banquet.

Day 11 Sadly your tour has come to end. After breakfast we will transfer to the Shannon Airport where there is time for duty-free shopping before boarding your return flight.
